What is a “Myth”?
You may notice talk about “myths” on the forum, but might not be sure what they are. The Roblox Myth Community is an internet subculture where people write screenplays, often similar to creepy-pastas, and create a digital, 3D representation of their story’s environment. The creator(s) of the myth then act as characters in their story. When a player comes to their game they assume the role of a character as well. Through one-on-one interaction with the characters and the digital environment the player advances chronologically throughout the plot of the story uncovering lore.
In a way its like a story game, but its also very different. Code and NPC interactions confine story game interaction. With myths, however, there is a real person on the other end of the screen playing a character. This makes the process of the story more engaging than what story games are because conversations are open-ended. If you are interested in joining the community but aren’t sure how to become active, checkout some of the communities linked below. There is also a channel specifically for developing where you can ask questions about building your own myth game. To investigate myths on this platform, you can look through the forum to find myths and search their name on Roblox. You can always leave a reply on their post or send a private message to try to start a conversation with them.
